Woodfarm High School
On Friday 22nd October, the staff and pupils of Woodfarm High School were delighted to be presented with The Go Greener Eco Education Award 2010. This community award was presented to Rosemary Craig (Eco Coordinator), Ann Stewart (Acting Head) and the Eco Committee members in recognition of the work that has been done in the school community to help combat climate change and save the planet! Woodfarm is the first of the seven high schools in East Renfrewshire to achieve Green Flag accreditation.
Councillor Eddie Phillips, Go Greener Chairman, and Glyn Jones, Go Greener Team Leader, visited the school to make the presentation. Pupils watched a Go Greener DVD, which reinforced the message that everyone can play a part in combating climate change - 'Think Global - Act Local!'
The award, in the shape of a very attractive plaque, will be given pride of place at the main entrance to the school.
