As schools reach this standard the Go Greener Community Award for excellence will be presented to them.

Auchenback Primary School
On the Tuesday 1st September, the staff and pupils of Auchenback Primary School were delighted to be presented with The Go Greener Eco Education Award 2009. This community award was given in recognition of the work that the school community has done, and continues to do, to help combat climate change and save the planet! Councillor Eddie Phillips, Go Greener Chairman, and Glyn Jones, Go Greener Team Leader, visited the school to make the presentation and the pupils watched a Go Greener DVD, which reinforced the message that everyone can play a part in combating climate change - 'Think Global - Act Local!'
The award, in the shape of a very attractive plaque, will be given pride of place at the main entrance to the school.

Braidbar Primary School
On Thursday 3rd September Braidbar Primary School received it’s Go Greener Eco Education Award. Glyn Jones, Team Leader of the Schools Action Group along with Go Greener Chair Cllr Eddie Phillips gave a presentation to 1st and 2nd years and presented their Eco Committee and Head Teacher Margaret Ward with a plaque. A short visit of the school also took place to show of their eco projects including (pictured) Eddie being shown their eco garden by Sheena Phee which produces rhubarb, blackberries and other edibles which are used by the school canteen.    

Mearns Primary School
On Tuesday 22nd September, the staff and pupils of Mearns Primary School were delighted to be presented with The Go Greener Eco Education Award 2009. This community award was given to Mrs Jo McGregor in recognition of the work that has been done in the school community and continues to do, to help combat climate change and save the planet! Councillor Eddie Phillips, Go Greener Chairman, and Glyn Jones, Go Greener Team Leader, visited the school to make the presentation and the pupils watched a Go Greener DVD, which reinforced the message that everyone can play a part in combating climate change - 'Think Global - Act Local!'

Neilston Primary School
The Eco Schools Award was presented on Tuesday 15th September to Neilston Primary School. Their Eco Committee and Eco School Co-ordinator Mrs Rosemary Crossan received the plaque. The Eco School gave Mr Jones and Cllr Phillips a presentation of their own on how the school got their Green Flags and even sung a specially composed eco-song. Well done Neilston Primary!

St. Mark's Primary School
St Marks Primary were the penultimate recipients of the Go Greener Eco Education Awards 2009. Pictured are the Eco Committee along with Schools Action Group Team Leader Glyn Jones and Go Greener Chair Eddie Phillips. Head Teacher Gerald McLaughlin is pictured receiving the award from Eddie. Less than a week earlier St Marks were at the Scottish Green Awards as a shortlisted finalist. Clearly this is a Green School in most every way!

Netherlee Primary School
On Tuesday 22nd September Mark Weir ECO coordinator of Netherlee Primary School received the Go Greener Eco Education Award. Glyn Jones, Team Leader of the Schools Action Group along with Go Greener Chair Cllr Eddie Phillips gave a presentation to the school. A short visit of the school also took place to show off their eco projects including their plastic bottle greenhouse.

Carolside Primary School
On the Tuesday 8th September Mrs Elaine McNeil ECO coordinator, the staff and pupils of Carolside Primary School were delighted to be presented with The Go Greener Eco Education Award 2009. This community award was given in recognition of the work that the school community has done, and continues to do, to help combat climate change and save the planet! On the Thursday 10th September Vivien Mitchell ECO coordinator, the staff and pupils of Cross Arthurlie Primary School were delighted to be presented with The Go Greener Eco Education Award 2009. This community award was given in recognition of the work that the school community has done, and continues to do, to help combat climate change and save the planet! Our Lady of the Missions Primary School
On Thursday 24th September Suzanne Martin ECO coordinator, the staff and pupils of Our Lady of the Missions Primary School were delighted to be presented with The Go Greener Eco Education Award 2009. This community award was given in recognition of the work that the school community has done, and continues to do, to help combat climate change and save the planet! Councillor Eddie Phillips, Go Greener Chairman, and Glyn Jones, Go Greener Team Leader, visited the school to make the presentation and the pupils watched a Go Greener DVD, which reinforced the message that everyone can play a part in combating climate change - 'Think Global - Act Local!'
A school choir sang their special ECO song in the company of the school and guests. This was a very enjoyable performance.

St. John's Primary School
