Here are some 'green' tips for the garden.

Use the inside of toilet rolls

Take the inside of a toilet roll and use it to plant my lettuce seeds in.

Providing they aren't the scented rolls they work a treat and you can plant them straight into the garden as the cardboard composts down into the soil.   

Composting Tips

We all know that composting is the best way to feed the plants as well as get rid of household waste. To get better compost tear up some old cardboard (yes inside of toilet rolls too) and put that in with your material for composting. The fibres give a better texture to the compost as well as allowing air pockets for it to compost better. 

Rainwater Harvesting

Collecting your own water may seem a thing for gardeners or real enthusiasts, involving plumbing and so on. However, it is very easy to do. A water butt system that connects into your downpipe can collect hundreds of gallons of water. Also, rainwater is better for your plants than tap water.
Systems can start from as little as a few pounds and can make a real difference.
