Apple Day 2010 - Another great success!
We notched up another huge event last weekend.

Go Greener’s Apple Day held in and around Rouken Glen Park’s Pavilion on Sunday 12th September witnessed an estimated 2,500 local residents enjoying baked apples, observing apple juice being made, participating in cookery lessons, watching kids face painting, and learning all about successfully growing gardens. The event was the second of its kind held in Rouken Glen Park and formed part of the East Renfrewshire Food Festival.
Chair of Go Greener, Councillor Eddie Phillips said:
“The weather got out and brought the public with it. The whole purpose of the event was, yes to celebrate the apple, but also to show people that there are many different ways to consume locally produced fruit. Clearly a large body of people in East Renfrewshire want to improve their lifestyles and see if they can do things differently. Go Greener wants to be part of that process. Events such as these are getting bigger and bigger, and Go Greener is as well. We are indeed ‘A Growing Movement’.”
